Dance Adjudicator
Jamie Smith Robinson was crowned Miss Lakeside in Atlanta, Georgia. Resulting in modeling jobs and competition work. She now adjudicates/judges nationally in Los Angeles, Reno, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Idaho, St. Louis, Dallas, Indianapolis and many more cities. She adjudicates hip hop, tap, ballet, musical theatre, modeling, pageants, dance, voice, auditions, folk dance, music, cheer and gymnastics. She is an established choreographer, judge, artistic director, studio owner and dance educator. Her innovative choreography and effective teaching methods have been sought after by pre-professional, private, universities and conservatories nationally.
The mixture of east coast and west coast professional training makes her well rounded in all forms and styles. “I want to help others be the best they can be! The hard work and determination I learned through dancing and teaching is what has helped me become successful as a judge and in so many different areas. I love movement, it fascinates me!”
UDJA certified. Jamie’s judging spans the vast variety of all dancing genre, including dance Reflections competitions,SDA, Imagine Dance Challenge, Team Dance, Miss America, Adrenaline Productions, Utah, Aspire, Dance America, USA Dance, Gotttamove, Rocky Mountain, Utah Dance Fest, America on Stage, USHAA and ISHAA (Utah and Idaho Drill), as well as many auditions.
Her students earned honors such as BYU Cougarette National Champions, National “Miss Drill USA” in L.A, U of U Ballet honors, Expansion, MOSAIC (UVU), North Pacific Ballet Co. Center Stage Senior Co, Honored by the Governor of Utah, Top Hip Hop Award at Dance Awards 2016, San Antonio Arts Conservatory, Youth Grand Prix.
She is constantly attending Conventions Workshops to improve on judging and dance technique. She took classes at Broadway Dance, Joffrey, Alvin Ailey and Steps on Broadway in NYC. Loved catching up!
Dancer
Jamie a native of Atlanta, Georgia with the Atlanta Ballet and David Howard. SERBA (Southeastern Regional Ballet Association) Choreography Scholarship winner..... studying in summer programs from North Carolina to New York. Recruited on scholarship to BYU as a soloist performing on tour. Also performed water ballet-sychronized swimming. Jamie was awarded "Miss Lakeside" at Lakeside High School and won the Talent award as well performing an original contemporary piece. Jamie cheered for 4 years at Lakeside High, cheer captian senior year, winning awards at USA and ACA.
Jamie has extensive experience in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Cheer, Gymnastics and Drill. She has choreographed for Nutcracker, Swan Lake and more. She performed in off-broadway Guys and Dolls, in Atlanta, Ga. Also performed as soloist in Coppelia, Piquita, Tandelai, Jungle Book, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Operettas, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story
She performed in Paris, Amsterdam, London, Scotland and Belgium with Brigham Young University touring with genres as Hawaiian, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary.
Jamie’s years of experience include dancing with Daryl Yeager (Odysey Dance), Learning from Luiji, Anthony Morigerato, Denise Wall, Finis Jhung, Twyla Tharp, Kim Delgrosso, Mandy Moore, Greg Russell and touring Europe (London, Paris, Scotland, and Belgium).
Choreographer & Teacher
She owned and directed “The Ballet Co.” for 22 years. Jamie teaches Master Classes in Ballet, Jazz, Conditioning, Health and the Dancer, DoTerra for Dancers (essential oils), Turns Classes.
Jamie is a mother of 5 beautiful children. Some are dancers, some are married and with their own families. Is an avid angler on the North Platte. She has finished 6 Half Marathons, Loves Heirloom Stitching and playing with her grandchildren. She is proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Married to a wonderful husband who knows and understands dancing is in her heart.
